About the event

The first of our 2026 VAS Summer Lecture Series will be a talk by Dr. Arianna Ferrari about the key challenges, pitfalls, and possibilities for animal lives in futures where cultivated meat plays a significant role. Dr. Arianna Ferrari has been a researcher since 2024 at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT GmbH), within the Societal Futures team of the Center for Innovation Systems and Policy. In 2015, she led the first project in Germany dedicated to visions of cultivated meat and in 2024, she published the volume Carne coltivata. Rivoluzione a tavola? with Fandango. Her expertise includes the ethics of emerging technologies, technology assessment, vision assessment, strategic foresight, and human–animal studies.
