About the event
Susana Monsó joins us to discuss her work on animals and death. Her book Das Schweigen der Schimpansen: Wie Tiere den Tod verstehen was recently the winner of Austria’s “Science Book of the Year Susana Monsó has been a post-doc fellow at the University of Graz and at the Messerli Research Institute in Vienna and is now based in the Department of Logic, History, and Philosophy of Science of UNED. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Complutense University of Madrid, an MA in Global Ethics and Human Values from King’s College London, and a PhD in Philosophy from UNED, Spain. She is also the co-founder of the Philosophy of Animal Minds and Behavior Association and a member of the METIS research group. Her research focuses on the sociocognitive abilities of animals and the resulting ethical implications.
