About the event

We kick off the Winter Lecture Series for the Vienna Animal Studies Group with Dr Leonie Bossert examining the overlap between geoengineering and animal ethics, advocating for a shift from anthropocentric approaches in geoengineering ethics and philosophy.

Speaker Bio: Dr Leonie N. Bossert is an animal, environmental, and AI ethicist and political philosopher. She works as a post-doctoral University Assistant at the Chair for Philosophy of Media and Technology at the University of Vienna. Additionally, she is a member of the Young Academy of the Heidelberger Academy of Sciences and Humanities and an associate member of the Center for Environmental and Technology Ethics Prague. Her research currently focuses on the intersections of animal and AI ethics, and non-anthropocentric theories of justice and democracy.
