About the event
In this Visiting Lecture, Dr. Chiara Stefanoni draws on insights from her book The Human and the Meat to discusses how capitalist society has reshaped human-animal relations. Chiara Stefanoni is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in philosophy at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Working within the continental tradition, she draws on critical theory, Marxist thought, and Foucauldian concepts to examine how social structures, scientific practices, and technologies shape human-animal relations and the framing of environmental issues.
