Anna Rademann studied veterinary medicine in Hanover, Germany, and is now doing a PhD at Vetmeduni Vienna in the transdisciplinary project “COwLEARNING”. The main focus of her PhD lies on the welfare of cattle in cow-calf contact systems and the human-cattle relationship, i.e. farmers’ attitudes, empathy, and work satisfaction, also in the context of sustainability. In addition, she did investigations on the treatment of cattle at slaughterhouses and slaughterhouse workers’ attitudes and work satisfaction and is working on consumers’ attitudes towards non-human animals used for farming purposes and their eating and buying practises, both in the general population and with a special focus on vulnerable groups. Moreover, she is doing a residency at the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM), specialising in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law (AWSEL), and she has completed several coaching educations and works as a personal life coach for veterinarians. Her interests lie at the intersection of animal ethics, veterinary science, psychology, social science, and policy.
